Missy has a passion for bringing people together. She has a long history of facilitating small groups, training and coaching with a brain-centric approach rooted in a certification from the NeuroLeadership Institute. She combines her knowledge, experience and expertise in coaching and facilitating to guide others through life related changes which also includes her own pain healing journey.
Why the Calm Down Coach? Sometimes you have to calm down to speed up...sometimes you have to calm down to heal, to focus, to have a new vision, to change.
Missy's insightful, compassionate and sometimes humorous approach focuses on 'strategies that work' to help you 'think about your thinking.' She guides others in group and individual settings to navigate new, proactive paths for chronic symptoms that may include insomnia, pain management and anxiety, regardless of how they originated.
As Jon Kabat-Zinn said, "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf. "
Missy will help you "surf the waves of life"...It all starts with awareness, using Strategies that Work to help you 'think about your thinking' so you are able to make positive, life enriching changes.
BTW, Missy's granddaughter, Jessie, called her the Calm Down Coach before she gave herself the title. :-)
These are small group, 2-6 week programs created specifically for participants from Missy's Curable Groups. This is a 'follow up' to your Groups program with the idea that we will discuss “what’s working for you.” We will share ideas and resources as well as provide support for each other when there are challenges. It is not a Curable Health program.
Goal: connect with other Groups members and compare strategies that are working. You will be able to exchange contact information, should you wish to do so.
Different strategies help different people-our brains have the same basic structure but we all interpret information individually. I have had many 'Groups' participants ask if there was a program after Curable and if they could meet other people that went through the Curable program. As you may recall, I always started out our Group, with the focus on Think About Your Thinking…Now, let’s discuss Strategies that Work as we 'Think About Our Thinking'...together!

"So far I'm a couple weeks into Missy's Strategies that Work class, and it's clear I've already gotten so much value out of the class and community. Missy has a way of intentionally fostering connection throughout the group and helping everyone feel included. The weekly recap and looking ahead emails include helpful notes, resources, and inspiration. I really appreciate having these notes to reference for motivation throughout the week. I sincerely thank you Missy for creating this beautiful Strategies that Work group. I don't have the words right now to express how much this group means to me. This class has provided me with more support and calm awareness in many aspects of my life. I can't wait to grow closer to my new community and continue healing on my own recovering journey. I am truly grateful for this opportunity!"-Emma, Washington, 2023
"I am so appreciative for you. I really mean that. You walk the happy talk!!! And that is so important to me and others. You remind us that there is so much we can do in just one minute to shift our brains. And that one minute can make all the difference in our entire day/week/month."
"I have so much to detail about what I appreciate about Missy, so it's hard to even start. I think that she is a rare combination of being both very knowledgeable and certain unique character, that know how to emotionally HOLD us, the participants in the group. Being a clinical psychologist, I know how therapists can lean toward the seriousness. But the thing which was really evident with Missy, is her ability to blend seriousness and playfulness: taking us and the matter we come with, very seriously, while still keeping the smile simultaneously."
Missy Warner was a brilliant facilitator. Missy was very good in guiding the group as well."
"She is so warm and informal and open that her skill as a facilitator is virtually invisible, but having facilitated groups myself, I appreciate her skill."
"Missy was an incredible facilitator. She kept conversations flowing by asking probing questions, helped us develop the habit of daily gratitude in our individual lives and within the group, for one another, and our physical symptoms were never explicitly discussed/explained up front; Missy allowed space for us to discuss them organically."
"Missy was wonderful in our group she was always there, always cared and kept her group flowing well. She really did make a huge difference- it would’ve been sad to of gotten somebody unprofessional without heart. Good for her and thank you for your service it’s been life-changing. Thank you again."
"Missy, who ran our group, was excellent at keeping us on track and looking beyond our answers. She was consistent in her approach and always made sure that everyone had an equal opportunity to speak & voice their achievements or questions."
Refund Policy
I do not provide refunds on “Strategies that Work…Thinking about Your Thinking.” By signing up for my small group, 6 week program, you are making a commitment to continuing your healing journey with like minded participants and to your growth. The quality of the experience depends on committed group members to exchange ideas and have an interactive discussion moving forward. If someone cancels, I am unable to fill the spot since this would compromise trust and relationships already established.
